From 1999 to 2002 I lived on the Isle of Iona as a member of staff working with the Iona Community.
Whilst there I got to know a few of the islanders a little. Iain and Carol ran a croft at the North end of the island.
They have now left the croft and live in Iona village.
On a return visit, before they moved, I spent an afternoon with them. I took these photographs in the early days of my focus on rural life.
A beautiful place to live, though like many who live and work on the land, diversification is a necessary step. Having several jobs is often the only way. Iain and carol were no exception.
