Blue. My inspiraton for this series was first of all my love of the land and sea. Secondly my love of Cyanotypes. Not wanting to use pure black and white or colour, I decided to experiment with colour and I came up with this blue series. Though not pure Cyanotype in tone, I loved this blue. Cool and yet warm. My aim was to enhance the beauty of the area through the use of restricted colour, and I used softening filters whilst processing them. I was hearted when exhibiting this series. Someone who had grown up in the same area responded emotionally when viewing them. An area so often overlooked, we are out on a limb, she recognised my desire to share the beauty of this particular landscape. Another response was that they were 'bleak but beautiful'. I can't disagree. It is what I feel about the place.
