People and Place. It's all about rural locations for me, both here and abroad. I've been fortunate in meeting people who live in remote locations, through friends, family and photography contacts. This series features a selection of people who live either off grid or in rural communities in Spain, Poland, East Yorkshire and on the West coast of Scotland. In Poland particularly I was struck by how many single women were making use of EU funding to create successful rural businesses, in often isolated locations. Some of these folks who welcomed me in to their lives, are sadly no longer with us. My thanks to them and their families for their time and for sharing something of their lives with me. In most of these photographs I used only natural light. In some cases a muted palette too.
